One of my absolute favorite quotes. I would like to take it even further. No one can make you feel anything without your consent.

We learn behaviors at a very early age that affect us throughout our lives. As an energy healer, I work with my clients to undo these behaviors or reactions. One of the most damaging is our certainty that other people’s opinions about us are facts. In reality, nothing could be farther from the truth.

We chose what to believe about ourselves. This gives us power over our own lives. Are we beautiful? Are we smart? Useless? Not meant to be successful? The list is endless. I chose to believe that I am a beautiful person and I can do whatever I want to do in this lifetime. If you make the choice to believe good and positive things about yourself, your life will change.

There is an old saying, “Never assume. It makes an ass out of you and me.”, which illustrates this point even further. We assume what people are thinking about us based on small things like the way a person looks at us or what we perceive as a disgusted look on their face. These are all assumptions NOT based on facts. These assumptions are based on our past experiences and must not be allowed to affect our current lives.

The next time you hear that little voice in your head say something like, “she doesn’t like me because she looked at me funny”, ignore it. Not only does it not matter whether people like you or not, but you must never give that kind of power over your life to another human being.
